Your step-by-step visual guide

Step 1: Easy peasy! Toss in the seeds, dates, and two dried roses—just be sure to ditch the ends of the roses.

Give it a whirl in the processor for about a minute and a half. Voila! Your mixture should come together beautifully.

Step 2: Transfer the mixture to a bowl and amp up the floral charm with those remaining roses!

Get your hands in there and mix in the extra roses until everything’s nicely combined.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • cup sesame seeds plain
  • 8 Medjool dates very soft, pitted
  • 4 dried roses ends removed, fragrant

Optional

  • tbsp sesame for coating four finished balls

Instructions

  • In a food processor, combine the pitted Medjool dates, sesame seeds, and petals of 2 dried roses. Pulse until the mixture forms a sticky dough-like consistency, about 1 and a half minutes.
  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl. Break up the additional 2 roses and incorporate them into the dough mixture by gently kneading with your hands.
  • Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball between your palms. For added texture, roll 4 of the balls in sesame seeds until coated.
